Rockbridge County Police are actively investigating the grisly quadruple murder of a local family in Rockbridge County.

The deceased bodies of four members of the Kershaw family of Rockbridge were found in their home this past Saturday, June 28 2003. Right now details from the crime scene are sparse, but Rockbridge police have confirmed that all the victims were murdered with handheld weapons. Police have not released any news on suspects or motive at this point in the investigation.

Sheriff R.W. Day gave a brief statement:

“We are all deeply saddened at the sudden deaths of Ike, Victoria, Elizabeth, and Isiah Kershaw. Our job now is to find the responsible party behind these needless murders. We are partnering with state police and forensics to get to the bottom of this case quickly, and to seek out and find whoever did this.”

A memorial vigil is planned to take place this upcoming weekend, Sunday July 6, at Rockbridge High School, where both Elizabeth and Isiah were current students.

Anyone with any helpful or relevant information about this crime is asked to contact Rockbridge County Police immediately at 540-463-4361.
