he Central Shenandoah Health District is looking for volunteers to help distribute the COVID-19 vaccine.
The district is calling for people to join the Virginia Medical Reserve Corps.
They are looking for medical and non-medical volunteers to help with COVID-19 vaccination, testing, education and non-medical needs like translation, logistical and IT support.
“We definitely have a really big task ahead of us with vaccinating our district and we’re going to need help from not only our community partners but also from the community,” Laura Lee Wight of the Central Shenandoah Health District said. “Having volunteers is going to be essential.”
Wight encourages people in the community to be public health and vaccine ambassadors.
“Educate yourself and your family and your friends about the importance of getting the COVID-19 vaccine when it’s available to you,” Wight said.
